After a long absence in the mobile market, recently, HTC‘s general manager for Asia – Pacific, Mr. Charles Huang has revealed that HTC is planning to introduce a high-end smartphone in April. This device will also integrate the functions of the metaverse virtual universe as a new trend.
According to Charles Huang, HTC is planning to integrate certain functions of the metaverse into the company’s upcoming new smartphone. It is known that this plan is so that HTC can attract potential customers who want to use this device for VR/AR applications in the future.
Mr. Huang also once again denied that HTC pulled out of the mobile market, but did not reveal any information about the upcoming high-end smartphone. According to HTC co-founder and current CEO Cher Wang, HTC will continue to invest heavily in virtual and augmented reality on a large scale. This is one of the areas where HTC is strong in the market.
At the present time, HTC is still maintaining the smartphone business by selling low-cost to mid-range devices. The company has maintained this plan for the past 4 years and mainly HTC smartphones are sold in Taiwan’s domestic market. In some markets, HTC has not appeared much in recent years.
